I’m Back <3

Hello readers!

I’m really sorry for the gap without posting, and I hope you guys have still decided to stick with my blog for the time being. I’ve been very busy with schoolwork and the holidays, and I guess my blog regrettably hasn’t been getting the attention it deserves.

I’d like to get back to blogging, but I’d also like to take many steps to improve my blog, and something that I think is absolutely necessary is to find out why you guys love New Jersey so much! I know I can’t be the only person who loves this state, so I’d like to know what about it you guys like! Feel free to leave a comment, or for longer suggestions or guest blog submissions, you can email me at kristenlovesnewjersey@gmail.com

I’m going to try to keep blogging on a regular basis, but thank you guys for sticking with me (:

Until next time,

#19: Saladworks

I’m sure everyone here can relate to going to the mall. I go a lot. And when I go, I love to eat. I always start off a fun night with my friends at Saladworks, so I was shocked to learn that they currently only exist in New Jersey and Florida. Locations around the country are coming soon, so hopefully I can convince you to try it when they come to your area!

Saladworks is a staple in most New Jersey malls, and a few stand-alone locations too. Their specialty is, obviously, salads! You can choose from a pre-created one made with fresh ingredients or make your own. Every topping imaginable is available—my favorites are pasta and ham. Each salad comes with a fresh white or wheat roll. If you’re not a salad person, they also offer wraps, paninis or soups.

The food is clearly healthy; according to their website the chicken Caesar salad has roughly 290 calories (that’s a big bowl too!) and the garden deluxe has 239. At around $8 to build your own, they are slightly pricey, but it’s definitely worth it!

Next time you’re in New Jersey, definitely make it a point to stop in Saladworks. And who knows, maybe soon, one will open near you!

Until next time,

#15: Pleasant Valley Miniature Golf

Hey guys! Today I had such a fun day mini golfing with my mom and brother. We went to Pleasant Valley Miniature Golf, which is one of my favorite mini-golf places in all of New Jersey. It’s located on Route 73 in Voorhees, New Jersey. We had a really great time trying to beat each other! The golf course has some really cute holes, such as a castle where hitting your ball through the pathway in the middle will send it almost directly into the hole, or the rotating merry-go-round you have to be careful not to get your ball stuck in. The last hole is at a 45 degree angle into a small hole only slightly larger than the golf balls. It leads into a huge camera, and if you hit your ball in, the camera will take your picture and you win a free game! My brother won a free game, but he decided to pocket the coupon instead of sharing.

After golfing, we got some of the delicious water ice. I got strawberry, lemon and blueberry mixed together. It ended up looking very patriotic!

There’s several shady picnic areas to snack in, or even to have a birthday party in! This is definitely one of my favorite things to do on a hot summer day.

Until next time,
